We store only what's needed to help you. We never sell or share your data. You can delete everything with one message.
What we store
To give you a supportive, continuous experience, GarbhSaathi remembers the context of your conversations. On WhatsApp this includes:
- Your phone number — to identify your account and send messages. Your name, if you choose to share it.
- Your messages and her replies — so she can keep context instead of starting fresh every time.
- What you ask her to track — periods and cycle dates, medication schedules and whether doses were taken, lab values you type, expenses you log, monitoring results from clinic visits.
- Photos you send (prescriptions, reports, test kits) — processed by AI to read them, stored temporarily and deleted within 30 days.
- A partner's number, only if you add one for shared alerts. They can opt out anytime by replying STOP.
On the website we collect much less: an email address if you subscribe, what you type into a contact form, and anonymised usage analytics (PostHog in privacy mode — no IP addresses, no fingerprinting).
What we never do
- We never sell your personal or health data to anyone.
- We never share your data with clinics, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, or advertisers.
- We never use your health information — or your emotional state — for targeted advertising.
- We never share individual conversations in any form. When we review conversations to improve her, it is anonymised and aggregated across many people, never you as an individual.
Deleting your data
You have complete control. To remove everything, message her “delete my data” (or DELETE ALL) in the chat. Your medications, cycles, expenses, and conversation history are permanently erased. For anything collected through the website, email privacy@garbhsaathi.in and we delete within 7 working days.

1. Who we are
GarbhSaathi is an independent health companion for women in India, delivered over WhatsApp and this website. We are not a clinic, hospital, or pharmaceutical company. Our contact for all privacy matters is privacy@garbhsaathi.in.
2. What data we collect on the website

3. How we use it
- Email: the newsletter and service updates you subscribed to. Nothing else.
- Usage data: aggregate analysis, always anonymised, never tied to an individual.
- Contact form: responding to you. Not added to any marketing list.
4. Who we share it with
No one. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data.
Technical processors: Vercel (hosting), PostHog (anonymised analytics), Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform (message delivery), and AI providers used to read photos and generate replies. They process data only to provide the service, under their own privacy terms; AI providers do not use your data to train their models. We may disclose data to authorities if legally required, and will notify you first wherever legally permitted.
5. Data retention
- WhatsApp data: kept while your account is active; erased when you ask.
- Photos: deleted within 30 days of processing.
- Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe; deleted within 7 working days of request.
- Contact form: 90 days after we resolve your enquiry.
- Anonymised analytics: 12-month aggregate retention; no individual can be identified.
6. Your rights (DPDP Act 2023)
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you have the right to:
- Access — know what data we hold about you
- Correction — correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — have your data deleted (within 7 working days)
- Grievance — raise a complaint with us, or with the Data Protection Board of India

8. Children
GarbhSaathi is not intended for anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected data from someone under 18, we delete it promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
For material changes — anything that affects how we use your data — we will tell you plainly, in the chat or by email, and give you the option to opt out before the change takes effect. For minor changes we update the date above. Updating a date is not the same as telling you what changed, and we understand the difference.
