Our Privacy Principles (Plain Language)
- 1We don't sell your data. Not to clinics, pharma companies, advertisers, or anyone else. We earn no revenue from data sale.
- 2We don't share your data with clinics or treatment providers. Your fertility journey is yours alone. No clinic will ever receive your information through us.
- 3We collect the minimum we need. Newsletter: email + subscription date. Community: WhatsApp (governed by their terms, not ours).
- 4You can delete your data any time. Email privacy@garbhsaathi.in. We delete within 7 working days, no questions asked.
- 5We will never use your emotional health signals for ad targeting. We understand that fertility data is deeply sensitive. We will never misuse it.
- 6If we change these principles, we'll tell you plainly. We will email you with a clear description of what changed and give you the option to opt out.
1. Who We Are
GarbhSaathi is an independent IVF information platform for Indian couples. We are not a clinic, hospital, or pharmaceutical company. Our contact for all privacy matters is privacy@garbhsaathi.in.

3. How We Use Your Data
- Email: Sending the newsletter and service updates you subscribed to. Nothing else.
- Usage data: Aggregate performance analysis. Always anonymised. Never tied to an individual.
- Contact form: Responding to your inquiry. Not added to a marketing list.
4. Who We Share Your Data With
No one. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data.
Technical exceptions: We use Vercel for hosting and PostHog for analytics (in anonymised, privacy mode — no IP addresses, no fingerprinting). Both are bound by their own privacy policies and GDPR/DPDP compliance.
We may disclose data to authorities if legally required, and will notify you first wherever legally permitted.
5. Data Retention
- Newsletter email: Retained until you unsubscribe. Deleted within 7 working days of request.
- Contact form: 90 days after we resolve your inquiry, then deleted.
- Anonymised analytics: 12-month aggregate retention. No individual can be identified.
6. Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023)
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:
- Access — know what data we hold about you
- Correction — correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — have your data deleted (within 7 working days)
- Grievance — raise a complaint with us, or with the Data Protection Board of India

8. WhatsApp Community
Our WhatsApp community is governed by WhatsApp's privacy policy, which is separate from and outside our control. We do not store WhatsApp message data from the community group. We may hold a record of your opt-in, which is subject to this policy.
9. WhatsApp Bot (GarbhSaathi Companion)
When you interact with our WhatsApp bot, we collect and store the following data to provide our services:
- Phone number — used to identify your account and send messages.
- Name — provided by you during onboarding. Optional.
- Medication schedules — names, doses, times, and routes you enter or we extract from photos you send.
- Medication adherence data — when you confirm, skip, or miss a dose.
- Lab report values — values you type (e.g., AMH 1.2, FSH 9) to get explanations. We store these to personalize your experience.
- Cycle tracking data — cycle type, stage, milestones (retrieval, transfer, beta result).
- Expense data — amounts and categories you log for cost tracking.
- Monitoring data — follicle counts, lining thickness, and hormone levels from clinic visits.
- Conversation messages — your messages and our responses, stored to maintain conversation context and improve the service.
- Photos — medication schedule photos you send are processed by AI (Claude by Anthropic) to extract medication data. Photos are stored temporarily for processing and deleted within 30 days.
- Partner phone number — if you add a partner for coaching alerts, we store their number. Partners can opt out anytime by replying STOP.
How we use bot data:
- To send medication reminders at the times you set.
- To provide daily summaries of your cycle and medications.
- To explain lab results you share with us.
- To track your expenses and compare against clinic quotes.
- To adapt our tone based on your emotional state (e.g., quieter messages on hard days).
AI processing: We use Anthropic's Claude AI to process medication photos and generate responses for questions we can't answer with our built-in system. Your messages may be sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic does not use your data to train their models.
Data retention: Your bot data is stored as long as your account is active. You can delete all your data at any time by typing DELETE ALL in the bot. This permanently removes all your medications, cycles, expenses, and conversation history.
What we never do with bot data:
- We never share your health data with clinics, pharmaceutical companies, or advertisers.
- We never sell your data to any third party.
- We never use your data for targeted advertising.
- We never share individual patient data in any form.
10. Children's Data
GarbhSaathi is not intended for anyone under 18. If we discover we have collected data from someone under 18, we will delete it promptly. Please contact privacy@garbhsaathi.in if you believe this has occurred.
11. Changes to This Policy
For material changes (changes that affect how we use your data), we will email you with a plain-language description and give you the option to opt out before the change takes effect. For minor changes (formatting, clarifications), we update the “last updated” date only. Updating a date is not the same as telling you what changed — and we understand the difference.
